Baby nursery

My friend, Heather, is expecting a baby boy in the next few weeks! I was honored when she asked me to make the baby bumper, crib skirt, and matching quilt for the nursery. Despite never having tried my hand at these items, I found some good patterns, she chose the material, and I have to say it turned out pretty well!

For the Bumper, I followed a tutorial by Sew4Home's blog. It was extremely easy to follow, and took about 4-5 hours to complete. Here are pictures of the process, and then the finished product:

For the Crib Skirt, I followed a pattern by Amy Butler's Little Stitches for Little One's book. This pattern was a bit complicated because there are no pictures to follow (I'm a visual learner) and she didn't explain specific details about how to put it all together. Thankfully, it came out ok but did take quite a while - about 4-5 hours total, I believe. I don't have any pictures of it, but it's in the striped material, with a border in the polka dot material.

For the quilt, I just MADE IT UP! This was a much faster project, only taking about 2-3 hours. However, due to my poor math skills, it took about an hour extra to draw and calculate the pattern, making sure to leave room for the seam allowance. I sketched it out on a piece of paper, so no link to share. But if anyone is interested in the pattern, I am more than happy to share it!

More pictures of the nursery in it's entirety to come soon!
